Democratic Republic of the Congo

D. R. Congo, former Zair, is where the world-largest forest is located, second got the Amazonian forest unit. There are countless rivers, including the Congo - the longest after the Nile, granting access to Conrad's romantic vision of The Heart of the  Darkness.

The Congo is five times of France, 80 times that of Belgium. It is the second-leading French-speaking country in the world and many soon become the first.

There were 400,000 inhabitants in Kin in the 1960s, and it is estimated that the population today lies somewhere between 5 and 10 million. The population of the Congo is between 54 and 60 million.

A big part of the people are unemployed. The President Institution has established a not-for-profit organization, which is concern over the maintenance of the poor people on popular prices - "Reseau des Cantines Populaires", Mrs. Luhalwe M. Fatuma, Director. It is our partner in performance the program for delivery of foodstuffs & medicine. Through its thousands of bureaus over the country, Popular Canteens Organization can be a perfect partner of anybody, who needs a great net for distribution of medicine and food stuff.
